As I sit here, writing a post on a test blog hosted by GoDaddy, I wonder: whatever happened to the executive that pitched the Danica Patrick Super Bowl commercials?
It seems like the commercials were very successful at what they set out to do, and made GoDaddy a lot of money. It also made their brand notorious.
How long did it take for that shine to wear off? They have since obviously matured into a more generic corporate brand, and are probably better off for it.
But they’re probably known by their old brand to many people. Certainly to me. How long does that take to wear off? Maybe a generation? Was it all worth it in the end?
Anyway, just curious if that executive was celebrated, then left when he saw the writing on the wall. Or did he get the boot? Did he go to a startup and raise another raunchy brand? Just curious. Not curious enough to Google it though.
